Medical Terminology for your
Profession
Don’t spend weeks "training"
your speech engine to recognize terms unique
to your profession! Our add-on language models will get
you dictating at full speed
tomorrow.
Speech Engines ship with a general English
language model. This model contains
hundreds of thousands of words that we use in day-to-day
conversation. But it doesn’t include technical terms
that are relevant to specific professional groups. Words
like normocephalic, tympanic membranes, and ecchymosis.
In fact, for our general medicine model we identified over
12,000 words that health professionals use in real-life
dictation that are not contained in the Speech Engines general
models. These words are, however, included in a Trigram
Language Model.
Not Just a Word List
At one word per minute it would take one
person 200 hours to train Via Voice or Naturally Speaking
to recognize the 12,000 words in our General Medicine Model.
At 40 hours per week, that’s almost 5 weeks!
With a Trigram Language Model you will never
be "at a loss for words." Our technology
staff has painstakingly compiled usage statistics, phonetics,
and correct spelling of
profession-specific terms, so you don’t have to. Our
proprietary software puts a customized language model at
your fingertips.
The data used to build our industry-specific
language models comes from today’s organizations dictating
real-life scenarios. That means our models contain the latest
terms, not arcane words we found in a terminology dictionary.
